Love at the Top (1974)

 

(Original Title: Le mouton enragé) A quality film that isn't particularly exploitative - so may be too "good" to be on VZ1; however, it is a bit sleazy and features a damn near iconic nude scene from Jane Birkin as well as a shot or two of Romy Schneider; so may be worth a look.

Vicious Amandine (1976)

 

(Original Title: Vicieuse Amandine) A village simpleton becomes obsessed with an American who stirs things up with her sexual escapades.

Wild at Heart (1993)

 

(Original Title: Bat gei dik sam, 不羈的心) A married man is a womanizer of the highest order; but eventually his infidelity will catch up to him.

Hot Bodies (1976)

 

(Original Title: Corps brûlants) A young guy becomes obsessed with an older woman, Michèle Perello.

Schoolgirls (1976)

 

(Original Title: Versaute Schulmädchenträume) The title here is pretty meaningless.  The central character is easily in her mid-thirties, and there's no school to speak of.  It was fairly typical for Euro sleaze to masquerade as american releases - and this one was particularly intent on this ruse.  The cast is pretty much all made up american sounding names, the title "schoolgirls" is sure to be a hit on american drive-in marquees.  But for all this work, this film likely never saw a US release.  The story, such as it is, involves a girl who wants to take advantage of her parents being away on holiday, and plans to seduce the piano teacher. Things snowball from there.

Okay this is the last Playboy Late Night we'll cover for a while.  I think you get the picture - this was a really fun trip down memory lane; however, it does seem that by 1995 thing have gotten to be a bit stale.  Considering the show lasted supposedly until 1999, I wonder if it found its second wind. I Have the Right to Pleasure (1976)

 

(AKA J'ai droit au plaisir, ) Laure Cottereau plays a much-abused girl who reflects back upon her life during a coma. There is a lot of confusion and contradictory information on this film due in no small part to multiple releases over the next decade including the 1986 German re-release (Zarte Knospen AKA Tendre Adolescente) and a hardcore release (with body doubles) in 1982. But it was indeed released on Sept 22, 1976 to great success in France due in no small part to Cottereau's compelling performance and the skillful direction of Claude Pierson.

Vibrations Sexuelles (1976)

 

Not much going on here - just a patient who can't find joy in sex who falls in love with his shrink. Of note is that this is the first time Jean Rollin and Brigitte Lahaie worked together.  Perhaps it's a forgettable film, but it was the start of something great. 

Hard Love (1975)

 

Inspired by James Thurber's story The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the main character is a socially awkward mess, but is a well put together ladies man in his daily fantasies.

Nudaerobics (1983)

 

This was released the same year as Eroticise, so I guess there was something in the air for nude aerobics.  

Femalien 2: The Search for Kara (1998)

 

Sequel to Femalien (1996); Two aliens come to earth to retrieve Kara who has become too much into earthly sex to want to leave.

Rasputin: Orgies in the Tsar's Court (1983)

 

(Original Title: Rasputin - Orgien am Zarenhof) They tried to a Caligula style epic hardcore production around the famous Rasputin story.  Unfortunately, as we'll see it didn't quite work - thanks mainly to an incessant need splice in body double penetrations.

Dracula's Dungeon (1995)

 

A girl is abducted by Countess Dracula; her sister travels to the castle to save her. It's really for those bondage lovers as there's a good bit of heavy torture; however, there is a fair amount of attention to story and setting to make for an interesting vampire flick aside from the whippings and whatnot.

Laß Laufen, Kumpel (1981)

Don't Go Near the Park (1979)

 

In prehistoric times, a brother and sister were afflicted by a curse to live an eternity, compelled o survive by consuming the innards of youth. To free themselves from this curse and attain eternal life, the brother devises a plan to impregnate a virgin and offer the child as a sacrificial offering.

Monica's Aunt (1980)

 

(Original Title: La zia di Monica) Monica and her three friends stay with her aunt.  The friends have a carefree sexcapade, while Monica stays celibate, frustrating her boyfriend to no end.

Baron Porn's Nightly Pleasures (1969)

 

(Original Title: Baron Pornos nächtliche Freuden, AKA Roulette d'amour) An old depressed man wanders the streets of Hamburg reflecting back on his glory days, reminded by the various items in the shop windows.

Hell Mountain (1998)

 

In a post-apocalypse world, women are "harvested" and brought to work at Hell Mountain. The film was released in some markets as Chained Heat 3, although it has no relation to the original. [Check out the WIP page as well as a list of the best WIP films from the 1990s.]

(Original Title: A bout de sexe) Two randy mechanics get into various jams as they hop from one sexual encounter to the next.

Who Bares Sins (1987)

 

David Grant was a famously over-the-top sexploitation producer and director. We've covered several of his films on VZ1: Love Variations (1970), Au Pair Girls (1972),  Secrets of a Door to Door Salesman (1973), The Over-Amorous Artist (1974), and Girls Come First (1975). Grant opened up several porno theaters and had his own distribution company.  He was actually imprisoned for distributing the video nasty Nightmare (1981). He actually is believed to have been murdered via a contract killing - but there are also theories that he faked his own death.  What a life, what a character. (Read more on Grant here.)  This straight-to-VHS production is a compilation of some of Grant's work tied together by Benny Hill style vignettes.

Caught in the Can (1970)

 

Two guys can't come up with rent.  So they decide to dress as female prostitutes and then steal from sailors.  They end up in prison - which proves to be paradise as they're locked up with three hot girls. Featuring Casey Larrain and Linda Vroom.

Crazy Hotel (1977)

 

(Original Title: Perversites suedoises) Two uninhibited Swedish girls inherit a French inn.  They discover the place may be foreclosed, but are saved by an unexpected spring of luck.

Prof. F. Stein (2006)

 

(AKA Prof. F. Stein oder Ich baue mir meine Traumfrau - or I build my dream woman) A hardcore German Frankenstein movie.  What else do you need to know?

Naughty! (1974)

 

Yet another sex education film from the seventies.  This one doesn't focus on the sexual act and "deviant" practices as most of its ilk.  Rather it presents a history of sex and cultural attitudes. 

Love Feast (1969)

 

Edward D. Wood Jr. had been earning a living writing dirty paperbacks; he hadn't done a film since Eisenhower was in office. His return to film has him starring as a photographer who gets overwhelmed by the number of horny models that frequent his home.
