While the Cat's Away... (1972)
The eighth Chuck Vincent movie on VZ1; only about fifty more to go. This is an early one, coming right after Voices of Desire - that weird movie about satanists where Sandra Peabody makes love to a bowl of fruit. In this film, we follow a day-in-the-life of a housewife and her various sexual encounters. Not even close to being x-rated or a porno as the movie poster suggests.

The Kill (1968)
Titled Blood Hunger upon VHS release, which is how I remember it (and I'll go into that a bit later). It's part campy sex romp, part nihilistic rape horror show. The VHS cover doesn't represent this film well at all, as it's really just a private detective story with lots of sex (and the aforementioned rape). Let's have a look.

The Amorous Milkman (1975)
Randy Milkman Davey bites off more than he can chew when he starts to deliver more than pints of milk to some of the bored housewives on his route
We've had all manner of professions featured in British comedies, so why not add milkman to the employment list? See: The Over-Amorous Artist (1974). Adventures of a Plumber's Mate (1978), The Ups and Downs of a Handyman (1976), Confessions of a Window Cleaner (1974), and Secrets of a Door to Door Salesman (1973).

Zero Woman: Final Mission (1995)
The Japanese Zero Woman series began in 1974 and spanned ten movies through 2007. The movies follow Rei, who, works for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department agency called Zero Division where she fights all sorts of criminals. The series likely would have stopped after the first in '74, but thanks to the release of La Femme Nikita in 1990, a complete knockoff of Zero Woman:Red Handcuffs, it was restarted in the nineties. This is the first film in the Zero Woman reboot.

The Brides Wore Blood (1972)
"Sometimes death is the easy way out" - four women gather at the ancient DeLorca estate to serve as sacrifices to release the family from an ancient curse. Sure, it's actually St. Augustine, Florida and the estate is actually just Flagler College, but don't let that get in the way enjoying this ultra-low budget vampire movie.

Tarzun and the Valley of Lust (1970)
One of an endless number of unauthorized Tarzan movies. This one has no story whatsoever, and features the rapiest gorilla you're ever likely to see. This film reminded me a lot of The Geek (1971) which, instead of a gorilla, featured a Sasquatch who liked to rape unconscious women.

Totally Exposed (1991)
A masseuse has sex with his rich clients, and is living the dream. However, the gigolo life becomes too much for him. Featuring the stunningly beautiful Playmate Tina Bockrath in her only film credit (other than a Tales from the Crypt episode).
Candid Candid Camera Volume 3 (1985)
Alan Funt is back with another round of naughty Candid Camera gags. All have the same premise: What do you say to a naked lady? - with the 1970 film What Do You Say to a Naked Lady?, of course, as the genesis.

Scarlet Négligée (1968)
Directed by Ron Scott, who played Bob in Dracula Dirty Old Man (1969) as well as the horrible comedian in Spiked Heels and Black Nylons (1967). Produced by Texas sleaze-master, Whit Boyd, and starring a number of actors from other Boyd ventures including The Office Party (1968).
Spiked Heels and Black Nylons (1967)
Another Whit Boyd production from Texas; this one is about a housewife who is blackmailed to become a prostitute. It doesn't end well.

La Pulquería 3 (1984)
(Original Title: Entre ficheras anda el diablo - La pulquería 3). La Pulqueria (1981) was fantastic, and the 1982 sequel definitely declined. But we have to see this through, and check out the final in the trilogy (or were there more?).

Pacific Banana (1980)
There have been a number of crazy comedies centered around an airline. Soul Plane (2004), Bikini Airways (2003), and Party Plane (1991) - which I'm wanting to watch, but can't find anything better than a copy of a copy of a VHS. Pacific Banana comes from Australia, so its pedigree goes all the way back to Alvin Purple (and the star, Graeme Blundell, happens to be Alvin himself). Let's have a look.

The Image (1975)
From Radley Metzger, pioneer of adult cinema - the man behind I, a Woman (1965), Carmen, Baby (1967), Camille 2000 (1969), and The Lickerish Quartet (1970). Starring the great Mary Mendum (AKA Rebecca Brooke) who was Metzger's girlfriend at the time... which is a bit odd considering what she has to go through in this film. Let's take a look...

La Pulqueria 2 (1982)
La Pulqueria part two is a prime example of how a sequel can ruin a franchise by rushing to continue the gravy train. Several characters return, which is great - and they still don't shy away from full frontal nudity- not even the future first lady of Mexico, Sasha Montenegro. The follow up film features a gay Satan, and the whole Sybil story is completely ruined. If you haven't watched the first film or at least read the review, none of this will make sense. This is definitely not a standalone sequel.

Abigail Lesley Is Back in Town (1975)
Another Joe Sarno flick with the usual mid-seventies cast; the same group of actors from Confessions of Young American Housewife (1974) and Laura's Toys (1975), namely Mary Mendum and Chris Jordan. These three films almost serve as a trilogy; all soap-opera style dramas about sexual fulfillment. Any of these three movies would have been at home on daytime TV in the seventies, minus the plentiful sex. And it should be said, that despite using some porn veterans such as Eric Edwards, the acting is actually quite good.
Fetish Finishing School (1994)
You watch enough of these B-movies and exploitation films, and you start to notice some of the same names popping up again and again. Sure, we know the big names, but what about someone like Jasae? I first noticed this cute actress in the no-budget, lightweight sex "comedy" Co-Ed Starlets from 1996. Then, again in Bad Girls from Mars (1990) and Teenage Exorcist (1991).
Jasae was also an extra in Road House. She was in Candid Candid Candid Camera,4 (1985), and Cellblock Sisters: Banished Behind Bars (1995), but such a small part she wasn't even mentioned in our review. She was also in Roots of Evil (1992), a movie I totally loved. But here's the rub - in between all these fun B-movies, she was also in straight to home-video fetish stuff. Not porn, but kinky stuff nonetheless. This film, Fetish Finishing School, is a VHS copy I ran across with her name, and thought it would be interesting to quickly take a look at.

The Escort (1997)
A erotic thriller by Gary Graver. This guy was a collaborator with Orson Wells, but he also directed pornos, and worked on films like The Toolbox Murders and Texas Lighting. Whatever you think about his work, with literally hundreds of films under his belt as a cinematographer and director spanning decades, you can't avoid Graver when you're dealing with exploitation cinema.

The Only House in Town (1971)
Written and directed by Edward Wood, Jr., this film remained something of a holy grail until it was released in 2015. The film is really just a few vignettes, but they have that trademark perverted bizarre flair that we've come to love from the director.
Wood fans have unearthed tons of old newspaper ads demonstrating a surprising level of showings for a number of years in the early seventies. Drive-ins and midnight showings at local theaters had this on the big screen from coast to coast. It's amazing that no-budget X-rated movies like this could get such "airtime" - and that is, at its core, the reason the 60s - mid 80s was such an amazing time for exploitation films. Now, there's barely a venue for anything under a gazillion dollars and without the royal stamp of Mickey Mouse.
