Witch Academy (1995)

Made for $140K, this was supposed to be Fred Olen Ray's last scream queen movie. He said the days of the scream queen had come to an end, and so we have this - his final entry into the genre.  Let's have a look.

Tobacco Roody (1970)

We just covered Sweet Georgia and Sassy Sue, so it seems the time is right for tawdry hicksploitation fun.  Let's check it out.

Bedroom Mazurka (1970)

Well, the VHS and movie posters feature the A-Frame, so that's a good start.  Bedroom Mazurka is the first of many Danish sex comedies featuring Ole Søltoft and Birte Tove and a cast of familiar faces.  It would be followed by Bedside Dentist (VZ1 Review), then Danish Bed and Board (1972), Bedside Highway (1972), Between the Sheets (1973) (VZ1 Review), Der må være en sengekant! (1975), Jumpin' at the Bedside (1976), and finally Bedside Sailors (1976).

The Fan (1982)

A film about an obsessed fan, complete with sparse synth sounds and your standard joyless brooding German tone.

Splatter: Architects of Fear (1986)

A supposed documentary of the behind-the-scenes special-effects in a post-apocalypse action movie.

Higher and Higher (1970)

Original title - Ich - Ein Groupie, AKA Sesso a domicilio (Italy), Higher and Higher and Me, a Groupie (USA).  A fun look at the swingin' psychedelic youth culture, but then takes a hard right turn into an unexpectedly dark domain.  Let's have a look.

Sweetheart Murders (1998)

"Enter the wildly hypnotic, bold, glamorous and deadly world of L.A.'s fashion models"... well, not exactly.  More like the repetitive, tired, overdone world of straight-to-DVD erotic thrillers.

Dr Minx (1975)

"She's a vixen - watch her operate"

Bikini Med School (1994)

A plotless, pointless endeavor with strippers who don't actually strip.  As we'll see, however, there are a few reasons to at least give this a look...

Chatterbox (1977)

A movie about a girl's talking vagina... yeah, you read that right.  Starring Candice Rialson and features Rip Taylor.  I'm not sure what the deal was with all these talking vagina movies in the seventies.  Pussy Talk (1976), Angel Above Devil Below (1974) and now this.

Basic Training (1985)

With so many films like this after Police Academy, why choose Basic Training?  I was intrigued because it stars Ann Dusenberry from National Lampoon's Movie Madness (reviewed on VZ1).  She was great in that (and often naked), so I figured this needed to be watched.  Let's have a look.

Zipperface (1992)

TV Guide called it a cross between "female exploitation and feminist-bashing" that was "low-grade in all departments, not just gender politics".  Horror News wrote: "Not only is it unoriginal and poorly-written, it also has some of the worst acting I have seen in a very long time and is just a mighty bad movie in general in every conceivable way."

Sounds like this might be right up our alley.  Let's have a look.

A Touch of Genie (1974)

A nerdy Jewish shopkeeper is granted wishes from a genie.  What will his wishes be?  Hint: He's an a Times Square porn enthusiast...

Programmed for Pleasure (1981)

Programmed for Pleasure (1981) - La femme-objet (original title)

With all these movies of late about realistic female robots (Lucy, Ex Machina, Blade Runner, etc.)  I figured it would be interesting to look at one from almost forty years ago.  Sure, it's a hardcore flick, but the premise is the same.

The Erotic Circus (1969)

Originally called The Erotic Circus, the film's title was spruced up to Orgy in the Psycho House for its re-release in 2015. Considering that this movie is not erotic and there is no circus, I guess it makes sense.

Where'd they come up with the title, you ask?  I'm going to guess that it came from the original tagline: "Orgy in the Psycho House... Defilers of the Living!"

The Student Nurses (1970)

We follow the stories of four student nurses as the deal with hippy boyfriends and abortions.  Let's see how The Student Nurses stack up against The Stewardesses (1969), The Student Teachers (1973) and Candy Stripe Nurses (1974)....

Amuck (1972)

Groovy music.  Check.  Gorgeous cinematography. Check.  Smoking hot Italian babes.  Check.  Amuck has all the makings of a stellar giallo; let's see if it can live up to its potential.

RSVP (1984)

This movie, despite being a little lame, holds a special place in my heart.  Any of you old enough to remember the early eighties when you could stealthily watch the Playboy channel by fidgeting with the knobs.  Sure, it was still scrambled and barely discernible... but boys will be boys.  With enough patience and perseverance you could adjust the dials enough to where you could make out some highly coveted nudity. Before the days of the internet where porn is always just a couple clicks away; back then, you had to work to find even a hint of nudity...

What Really Happened to Miss Jonas (1974)

The Swiss answer to The Devil in Miss Jones (the follow-up to Deep Throat that had the nation aflutter in 1973) was The Devil in Miss Jonas (original title Der Teufel in Miss Jonas).  The next in line was this odd film - not a porno, but still plenty sleazy.

It's kind of meta actually, because the story is about finding the actress who played Miss Jonas.

Werewolf Woman (1976)

"A true story so brutal and horrifying it was kept from the public for over a century!"

The Night of the Sorcerers (1974)

The Night of the Sorcerers (1974)  - original title: La noche de los brujos, from the director of the acclaimed Blind Dead series.  It's a story about leopard vampire women - how can it not be good?  Let's have a look.

Night Shade (1996)

A Fred Olen Ray picture about zombie strippers - so, you know exactly what you're in for.  Featuring Tara McClure and Gabriella Hall as undead hotties.  Let's have a look...
