It's a Spanish film trying to be an Italian giallo - and I'm interested to see if it succeeds. As a kid in the 70s and 80s, I was completely unaware of the existence of the giallo genre;even though I was a big fan of horror flicks, these Italian horror-mysteries went completely under my radar. Little did I know, there were hundreds of these films, and they were wildly popular in Europe.
In Una Libélula Para Cada Muerto, Paul Naschy and his gang try to cash in on the giallo craze. It wasn't their first attempt, so perhaps this third try yielded results worthy enough to be considered a fine Italian giallo. Let's find out.
