Original Title: Die flambierte Frau
A German film about a housewife who decides to become a call girl. The critics liked it; that generally means I won't. Let's give it a shot...
Eva (Gudrun Landgrebe) is a bored housewife.
Eva leaves her husband and decides she wants to be a call girl. A hooker named Yvonne (Gabriele Lafari) brings her into the whoring lifestyle.
Yvonne brings her to a party where Eva is to turn her first trick.
She's timid at first, but only for a moment...
We get the first of many looks at Gudrun Landgrebe's boobs.
Eva meets a guy named Chris (Mathieu Carrière); he's also in the business - as a bisexual gigolo. Recognize the actor? He was the sicko murderer in the highly disturbing Naked Massacre. Carrière has been in a couple hundred (literally) other productions, not near as disturbing - even crossing over into American TV with an episode of Quantum Leap and Spencer for Hire.
They have sex, and Eva falls in love with him.
Eva makes a house call. This customer is the first to introduce Eva to domination and submission.
The client has Eva undress, wear an apron and kneel before him. More importantly, she turns the tables and puts him in a submissive position, painting him with lipstick. This will have consequences, as it awakens Eva's desire to dominate and abuse men, something she may have actually desired from the beginning.
Chris wants to get out of the gigolo world and open a restaurant. Eva's quite happy where she's at.
Eva kicks up the dominatrix vibe. She now operates exclusively out of her apartment, which she shares with Chris - and she mainly does the kinky S&M stuff.
The guy that wants to be dominated looks so familiar - it's driving me crazy. They don't say his name.
A pretty memorable moment, as Eva poses in front of this bespectacled fellow.
Actress Gudrun Landgrebe has worked continuously from the eighties through 2017, appearing in tons of German television and movies.
Eva gets more and more extreme with her sadomasochism; meanwhile, Chris just gets more and more anxious to escape this life and open a restaurant.
In the end, Chris punches Eva in the face, douses her with alcohol then lights her on fire. Unexpected. But then, the final scene features Eva and Yvonne, looking and acting normal, as if that never happened. WTF?
A pretty contrived, emotionless story. I guarantee you'll lose interest and care about no one. Gudrun Landgrebe's boobs are certainly worth a watch, but fast-forward through the rest.
