The plot setup: the dean shuts down Omega House and the building is turned into a co-ed residence for 4 freshmen supervised by graduate student Ophelia and her boyfriend, James, the former president of Omega House.

What's so great about Co-ed Confidential?  Let me count the ways.

The sex and nudity are nonstop.  The showmakers clearly knew why people were tuning in, and ensured rarely a scene elapsed without some level of T&A

But the beauty of this show is that it wasn't just about the sex and nudity.  The stories were actually entertaining in their own right.

While the acting is so-so and variable among the cast, the characters themselves are actually pretty likeable and interesting. What's more, each have their own backstory and character arc which may be fairly paint-by-numbers, still is a solid way to a tell a story which most of these types of shows forget.

It's actually downright hilarious.  I mean, it's funny in a juvenile American Pie sort of way, but that's it's intent - stupid, sleazy humor.  How many erotic TV comedies do you know of? This is a rare bird.  There were plenty of erotic dramas, romances, and even genre shows (horror, sci-fi), but comedy is pretty scarce in the late-night cable television landscape.  And when you consider that this was actually funny - like genuinely good humor - this bird gets even rarer.

It's filmed competently. This is nothing to take for granted in the cable TV erotica domain. Take Forbidden Science as an example. It had a decent budget, a great idea for a series, decent acting - everything was in place for a great erotica sci-fi series. But the execution is just godawful. Poor camera work, shoddy sex scenes, choppy editing. It's damn near unwatchable. But then you have this series, which is professionally well put together - pretty much at the level of your standard TV sitcom of the day.
