Reform School Girls (1986)

 

A parody of the Women In Prison genre featuring all the tropes we know and love in overdrive.

A great intro as our main character Jenny Williams (Linda Carol) is caught in a gun battle initiated by her boyfriend Billy.

Even though she wasn't a part of the robbery she's sentenced to three years.  Jenny finds herself in the paddy wagon with a weird girl named Lisa Stewart (Sherri Stoner).  Lisa seems to have the mind of a small child and she clutches her stuffed animal.

In the back of the vehicle is Nicky (Laurie Schwartz), who has already been to this reform school before.  She has her arms around her new 'friend' Kelly (Robin Watkins) 

Arriving at the detention center the girls are told to strip and shower

The delousing spray is turned on the girls

Lisa can't bear to hand over her stuffed animal; the guards let her keep it.

Dr. Norton (Charlotte McGinnis) the psychologist wants to help, but Jenny doesn't trust anyone at this point.

Cruel Edna (Pat Ast) is the head of the ward

She takes away Lisa's stuffed animal

The girls are introduced to their roommates

Charlie (Wendy O. Williams) is the head bitch; she instantly gets into it with Jenny

Edna has to break up their fight

Lisa is starting to lose her mind

The girls get ready for bed

Jenny makes friends with black girls Claudie (Denise Gordy) and Paula (Andrea Darnell)

Charlie puts a knife to Paula, making sure she knows who's boss

Lisa sneaks into the warden's office to get her stuffed animal back but is caught

Jenny clowns around.  Good times.

We're introduced to Warden Sutter (Sybil Danning)

The inmates are out doing manual labor - except Charlie and her girls

Lisa gets heatstroke and passes out

Lisa is carried unconscious to the truck

Jenny sees this and gets an idea for next time.

Charlie is dead set on making Lisa her bitch. Knox (Darcy DeMoss) pins her down.

She's about to brand Lisa's backside when Jenny arrives to rescue her.

Back in the field, Jenny passes out and is pulled up into the truck

But it seems her plan really was just to get with this guy - he leaves her a note to meet him in the truck tonight.

She does, but the guy turns out to be a traitor and turns her in.

Charlie and her gang have caught Lisa once again.

This time Lisa is stripped naked and branded

When Edna finds a kitten Lisa has been hiding, she kills it.  This sends Lisa over the edge and she climbs a tower, and falls to her death.

The inmates witness the tragic scene and riot, but Warden Sutter easily quells it.

Jenny is sent to solitary confinement 

Edna hoses her down

Dr. Norton tries to present a case that the inmates are being mistreated - but no one seems to believe her.

A riot breaks out with Charlie at the front

Edna climbs the watchtower and blasts the rioters 

Before she dies, Charlie sends a bus hurtling into the watchtower.

And that pretty much ends it.  Dr. Norton's claims are validated and Jenny is released. THE END

The best kind of parodies can be enjoyed on two levels - as a parody, and as entertainment in its own right.  For instance, I didn't even know Airplane was a disaster movie parody when I first saw it, but loved it regardless.  This wasn't quite that solid, but still a helluva good time, with all the WIP tropes lovingly represented.
