Shannon (Lynnette Howe), Michelle (Heather McTague) and Roxanne (Gloria Pryor) have driven all the way from Whistle, Ohio to make it as models in SoCal.
The girls are immediately hit on by a couple of beach bums
The return to their car and find everything is stolen. Michelle checks the trunk, and they've even taken their tent.
Shannon takes a shower. Lynnette Howe provides almost all of the nudity in this film, and she's not currently credited in IMDb.
Eating bananas on the beach (?) they find a job opportunity in the paper as bikini models
They unfortunately can't pay for gas, so Michelle and Shannon push Roxanne who steers.
They audition with a bunch of other models
The judge is Marilyn Schwartz (Kathy Pasmore) - Pasmore was amazing in Wild Malibu Weekend! (1995). Her dutiful assistant is Rolly (Kei Hayashi)
Of course the three friends get the job - and Marilyn offers them a place to stay at her mansion.
Roxanne is woken up by Rolly.
They meet neighbor Barry (George Saunders), a rich prick
Roxanne tries to get it going with Barry, and so Shannon and Michelle go for a walk. Shannon notices a jogger behind them via her compact.
Don't worry who this guy is for now. There are a multitude of males coming in and out of the picture here.
For instance there's Glen (Jeff Novak) a beach bum who has the hots for Shannon
So, this guy is Larry (also played by George Saunders) the twin brother of Barry the rich prick. Larry is the opposite - a good religious guy. Of course, the girls don't get they're different people and leads to some lame Three's Company style misunderstandings.
Roxanne is playing hard to get with Barry
More nudity from Shannon as she takes a bath
Michelle explains she's having a tough time with Larry
Glen sees that Larry and Barry are two different dudes
Marilyn returns home and orders the men to leave
The girls apologize
But Barry is right back in as soon as Marilyn leaves
Barry and Roxanne fool around
Shannon is disappointed when Glen falls for a girl who accidentally falls on top of him, with her boobs in his face.
All the girls are unhappy with their current men; Roxanne drops Barry when she catches him cheating.
Roxanne gets along with Brent - the guy from the beginning who set them up with the seedy motel room. It's the usual scenario where she thinks he's a poor groundskeeper, but he's really super rich.
The girls do a modeling gig and Brent is a judge. Roxanne can't understand how a lowly groundskeeper could be a top fashion client. (It takes her a while to connect the dots... in fact she never does)
Larry offers a way to get back at his twin brother - by using his black book against him. Them seems excessively shitty.
Their little prank ruins Barry's business deal with Mrs. Gilroy (Patricia Teeter) - not to mention his entire business. It basically destroys his life.
They throw a party where Marilyn gets drunk and takes her dress off. No nudity, but I love Kathy Pasmore regardless.
Since Roxanne has dumped him because she thinks he's poor, Brent moves on to Shannon who isn't such a gold digger.
And so here we are: Michelle is engaged to Larry, Shannon is with Brent who she finds is actually rich, and Roxanne is, I guess, destined to be a lonely spinster. THE END
Pretty tedious and terrible. Without Lynnette Howe there is nothing at all to see here. The amateur low-key style was nice, but they could not have done a worse job telling the stories of the various girls' relationship adventures.
