Video Zeta Spotlight: Maureen Flaherty

 

No one can beat Maureen Flaherty for a resting bitch face that one thing is for sure. Maureen Flaherty had a brief run in the 1990s - mainly in bikini movies.  She had a unique stand-out presence - a stone cold fox, but also could be funny and engaging. Let's take a look at her "body" of work shall we?

FUNNY GIRL: Maureen Flaherty is the sort of girl who enjoys a good joke. Quite literally.  Although Maureen (22) is busy carving a career as a TV actress in Hollywood, her main ambition is to make it as a comedienne.  To this end, she appears regularly at several of the noted comedy clubs in Los Angeles, where she performs a stand-up routine based on her own material.  Apart from a small role in the Priscilla Presley movie The Naked Gun, Maureen's principal work has been in a number of TV series - among them episodes of Dynasty, Santa Barbara, and Airwolf.  She's also appeared as the resident sex interest in music videos by Dweezil Zappa, Jimmy Buffet and Poison.  Despite such steady screen work, California born Maureen says her heart's still set on comedy.  We don't know if she can deliver a gag as cleverly as people like Eddie Murphy or Bill Murray, but we can confirm that she looks a hell of a lot better in a bikini than either of these gentlemen.

This article is interesting because it cites several roles which are not included on the IMDb.  Also, I think she would have been a really good comedienne. 

THE RUNNING MAN (1987)

I'm pretty sure that's her on the right, second from the front. But it's hard to tell.  Not a bad start.  It sounds from her bio above, that she's also making appearances in soaps and music videos around this time.

THE NAKED GUN (1988)
Flaherty is listed just as "woman" so no telling.  I thought she might be the woman who gets her boob grabbed by Leslie Nielsen when he's on the building ledge, but it doesn't quite look like her.

SHADOWZONE (1990)

Here's where it really all begins - and with quite a bang. I actually consider this the top nudity of the year (see Video Zeta List - Top Nude Scenes 1990) Maureen Flaherty is in a sleep chamber from the start of the film to the end. She gives Mathilda May in Lifeforce (1985) a run for her money - as she is butt naked for the duration.

Flaherty has only one poorly-lit nude scene; however, her bikinis are amazing.  The red one looks suspiciously like the one in her magazine bio above.

PSYCHO COP RETURNS (1993)

Flaherty shows up at the start as a stripper who gets thrown off a building.

BIKINI SQUAD (1993)

An awful movie, but Flaherty has a nice nude scene - and the scene where she gets knocked-out and falls off the lifeguard stand spread eagle is pretty good.

TINA AND THE PROFESSOR (1995)

This was nuts - and I am eagerly awaiting the restored, improved resolution version that is sure to come out. . Flaherty is a rich bich student who is the object of revenge for Tina.  But it's not by some silly prank - but by being drugged (!) then stripped completely naked (!) then molested by Avalon Anders while she's unconscious (!). I expect this score to rise once we get that much anticipated restored version.

Flaherty finally gives us an explicit sex scene - and full frontal nudity in the shower. This is probably the most we see of her in any movie.

Maureen has several good nude scenes including a striptease, a sunbathing scene and playing tennis topless!

Flaherty does show her boobs, but this is really Sage Kirkpatrick's show.  See her spotlight we did recently.

THE PLEASURE ZONE (1999)

A TV series that I'm sure has a nude scene in there somewhere; however, I haven't been able to find it.

SHADOW HOURS (2000) 

Flaherty plays an exotic dancer, so we may be missing something special here.  Haven't seen it - and it's her last credit on IMDb.  What's she been doing the last 23 years?  I'd be interested to learn.
