Here's our morbid and problematic list from 1978 - with some notable omissions such as the ladies from Halloween (1978).  However, we only include what's been covered on VZ1.  Enjoy... (well, don't enjoy, but you know what I mean.)

SILVIA AGUILAR - THE SHADOW OF A MEMORY (1978)

Aguilar is strangled in bed; a really atypical scene for Aguilar who we see murdered and ogled after death.

SANDRA ALBERTI - SATAN'S BLOOD (1978)

Satanist Alberti is killed; the couple carries her body to the bath to make it look like a suicide

IVETE BONFA - SEDUCED BY THE DEMON (1978)

Bonfa is strangled by her demon possessed son

SHERRY BUCHANAN - LAST HOUSE ON THE BEACH (1978)

Buchanan is brutally murdered by penetration with a stick

ANDREA CAMARGO - IN THE VIOLENCE OF SEX (1978)

Andrea Camargo is raped and abused to the point of death.  She crawls naked to the phone and makes one last call before dying.

LILLI CARATI - TO BE TWENTY (1978)

No kidding, this death scene shook me up more than any film covered on VZ1 - it damn near got me to stop watching these exploitation films.  Carati is held upside down and impaled in the vagina with a stick

MARIA CATALARD - RAPE, THE GREAT FEAR (1978)

Catalard is raped by two men; she later slits her wrist and is found dead

NANCY DANCER - MARDI GRAS MASSACRE (1978)

Nancy Dancer is tied to the altar and sacrificed to the Aztec deity

MARCIEE DRAKE - THE TOOLBOX MURDERS (1978)

Drake is knocked out in the hallway; she's carried into her apartment and murdered with a tool from the toolbox

MARINA DAUNIA - ESCAPE FROM WOMEN'S PRISON (1978)

Daunia is shot in the back as she runs naked down a hallway

RAQUEL EVANS - THE LAST SIN OF THE BOURGEOISIE (1978)

Evans throws herself off a cliff and her body is carried from the shore.  The death scene very much resembles the lovemaking scene also on the beach.  I can't help but wonder if this was intentional.

IRENE FOSTER - TRAUMA (1978)

Foster is murdered by a black-gloved killer with a straight razor.

GENEVIEVE GABRIEL - THE GANJA EXPRESS (1978)

Genevieve has sex with the guy who later kills her by bashing a statue over her head

PATRICIA GRANADA - THE COMING OF SIN (1978)

Patricia Granada is literally shot in the face.

YVONNE HARLOW - THE SISTER OF URSULA (1978)

Harlow is stabbed in the vagina

JACQUELINE LAURENT - NATHALIE: ESCAPE FROM HELL (1978)

Laurent the wicked warden is shot 

EVA LYBERTEN - THE RAPE OF THE DAWN (1978)

Eva is raped, and the rapists take it too far and accidentally kill her.

SUZY MANDEL - THE PLAYBIRDS (1978)

Mandel helps the police an dis rewarded by being the fourth victim of the killer in the deerstalker cap.

BANU MERAL - DEATH CIRCLE (1978)

Meral works at a club; when it's discovered she's shooting up, they kill her.

LAURA MISCH - MARDI GRAS MASSACRE (1978)

Misch is tied to an altar and sacrificed to the Aztec deity

ALDINE MULLER - DIABOLIC NYMPHS (1978)

Muller is beaten over the head with a rock and left naked and dead on the beach. Quite honestly one of the most disturbing murders I've seen on film - partly due (I'm sure) to the poor quality of the version I watched, making it feel like a snuff film.

ANTINISKA NEMOUR - THE SISTER OF URSULA (1978)

Nemour is stabbed in the vagina.  This sad scene is the last onscreen appearance of Nemour.

KELLY NICHOLS - THE TOOLBOX MURDERS (1978)

One of the most memorable death scenes ever - at least for me.  It begins with a calm scene in the bath, then the intruder chases her around the room.  She's shot with a nail gun; her body is then examined by the detectives at the crime scene and morgue.

LENKA NOVAK - VAMPIRE HOOKERS (1978)

In one of the oddest and possibly funniest deaths of all time - Lenka's body is found and her legs are spread eagle - and the dude just stares at her crotch. 

NOVANI NOVAKOSKI - IN THE VIOLENCE OF SEX (1978)

Novani is shot dead and falls on top of her lover

ISABEL PISANO - TRAUMA (1978)

Pisano is chased into the woods and killed

BEVERLY ROSS - SLIPPING INTO DARKNESS (1978)

It's a macabre scene, but incredibly compelling and memorable. You don't expect this main character to die in the bath halfway through the film; and we damn sure don't expect Ross to get naked in this film. This is when method acting really works in our favor. Her body is later carried from the tub to the bedroom.

SERENA - DRACULA SUCKS (1978)

Serena faints and is then murdered by Dracula - and left dead on the toilet

MEHTAP SEBA - DEATH CIRCLE (1978)

Seba is murdered with a straight razor

ERIKA VON JUMP - THE PLAYBIRDS (1978)

Erika Von Jump becomes the fifth victim of the serial killer in a deerstalker cap

URSULA WHITE - I PORNO ZOMBIE (1978)

Ursula White is shot in the chest at point blank range

UNKNOWN - MARDI GRAS MASSACRE (1978)

A woman is strapped to the altar and sacrificed to the Aztec deity
