Black Tie Nights - Beauty and the Beach S01E03 (2004)

   

A TV series about two friends who start a dating service called Black Tie Nights. While not terribly original - in fact pretty paint-by-numbers for late night cable erotica, it does feature many sexploitation all-stars of the day including Amy Lindsay, Beverly Lynne, and Monique Parent. Season 1, Episode 3 - "Beauty and the Beach"

Olivia Hartley (Amy Lindsay) and Cooper Snow (Tiffany Hendra) speak with super nerd Ryan Lundy (Glen Meadows).  He was set up with the soap opera star in the previous episode, but is unhappy as it was all about sex. 

Later in the episode we find that Olivia has hired Ryan as their assistant for their dating service.

Cooper doesn't quite approve as she has a love-hate with the nerd who speaks frankly about her sexually active lifestyle.

Cooper meets with a client - Lance (Sean Reynolds) a world champion surfer

Lance tells her about his poor relationships - citing a specific example about a girl named Tiffany (Tanya Lemelle). Tiffany seemed like the genuine article...

But she was only interested in his surfing trophies - which she eyes in his cabinet

They have sex - and she ogles his trophies the entire time

It ends badly - with Tiffany leaving and taking a trophy with her.

 Gina (Angela Nicholas), a successful attorney, is their next client.

Gina gives her background to Ryan, telling him about her failed relationships.

Gina was involved with another attorney named Eddie (Andy Hopper) who could barely be separated from his work.  She would have to strip and physically put herself between him and his computer.

But even then, that wasn't enough - and he'd push her away.

She'd have to leave his lap, humiliated.

But then Eddie would finish his work and go to town.

Bottom line- Gina doesn't want a man so tied up with ambition and work.

So, she is matched with Lance the surfer.

They have sex on the kitchen floor.

A brilliant sex scene. Angela Nicholas is perhaps an underrated sexploitation actress - see Alien Space Avenger (1989) and Sexual Surrender (2003)

Gina and Lance call the newly named Black Tie Nights agency to praise their match.

Olivia and Cooper celebrate their success at a bar

Cooper goes to bed with a random dude named Matt (Collier Landry)

The punchline is - Cooper asks for Matt's last name so she can prove to Olivia she's not a slut and knows the guys' full names she goes to bed with.  (I know, it's beyond dumb)

I'd say another one for the win column for Black Tie Nights - thanks in no small part to Angela Nicholas going all-in on her sex scenes. Just light softcore for late-night cable, nothing more - and that's okay.
