From Christopher Leto, the man behind Die Die Delta Pi (2013) [not to be confused with Delta Delta Die (2003)] which I hated, and Death Scort Service (2015) and Housewife Slasher (2012) which were not too shabby.

REVIEW: A pretty redundant film; not really bringing anything new to the table. Yet, in spite of myself, I still had a good time. Maybe it's because it's played with sincerity. I'm so done with this self-aware post-Scream shit. I loved Scream, but in it kneecapped the slasher genre for a long time. Thankfully it seems we're back to being less campy and self-aware, and, while still delivering the same tired old tropes, it's good to be back. The main complain really is that when it comes time for the "slashing" the kills are either off screen or completely lame.
SYNOPSIS
Let's meet the Tornado cheerleading team... Lisa (Indica Jane) and Summer (Mikayla Kane), Ali (Vera Marlowe) and Renee (Sydney Spaulding), Kelly (Aja Toombs) and Brandy (Sydni O'Nan), Marcy (Sushii Xhyvette Holder) and Kayla (Michelle Jones), and Coach Linda (Kylie Remlinger). Lisa and Renee discuss how Ali doesn't seem herself lately. They're interrupted by Lori (Taylor Herd) who wants to be a cheerleader. Lisa makes it abundantly clear that this isn't going to happen. Lisa and Renee go to the locker room. Lisa brings up the sleepover that they were planning to have at Ali's house. Ali is taking a shower alone. She's murdered by the masked slasher.
Lori hangs out with her nerd boyfriend Jason (Jayden Leto). Jason doesn't understand why Lori wants to be a cheerleader. They're mean to her. Summer is killed in her car. Lisa and Renee are oblivious that Summer and Ali are both dead. Marcy is sending nudes to her lover, Mark. Lori has a weird dream. She sees a girl in the yard with her back to her. When the girl turns around, she can see it's herself, but she's covered in blood holding a knife. The next morning Lori seems to be just fine.
The cheerleaders wonder where the hell Ali and Summer are. The cheerleaders practice without them. Since Ali is missing, the important matter of where to have the sleepover comes up. Lori offers to let them have their sleepover at her house. She has the house to herself and plenty of alcohol. Cool dudes Bo (Beux Leto) and Joe (Collin O'Neill) plan on crashing the sleepover. The cheerleaders leave. The lights go out and Coach Linda is killed in the shower. Brandy is next - killed in her car. The remaining cheerleaders arrive at Lori's house for the sleepover. A peeping tom (Adam T. Ricketts) watches through a window. After some drinks, the girls decide to have a twerk-a-thon. The peeping tom is murdered - at least he died happy. Bo and Renee get in the hot tub. The couple are impaled through the mouth. We find that the murderers are actually both Lori and Jason. Kelly, Marcy and Kayla are killed (basically off screen, in a non-interesting manner). Lori and Jason take Lisa to the football stadium to be tortured. We find this all has something to do with the Die Die Delta Pi (2013) film. Lisa is killed - or so it seems. She kills Jason, then runs at Lori. Lori is stabbed through the gut. We suppose Lori is dead - but in the final seconds we see her eyes open. THE END
Have you been watching a bunch of these recent ones on Tubi?
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. Tubi has a ton of flicks in the VZ1 "zone". Frankly, a lot of my usual go-to sources are starting to run dry (after watching about 3,500 films so far). If you have some recommended routes I'm all ears.
DeleteI can't speak for the experiences of others, but I'm a bit put off by the heavy-handed editing that Tubi does. A 90 minute T&A flick is lucky to be left with 45 minutes of viewing time when they post it.
