(AKA the Disembodied) I did not enjoy the original Killer Eye movie [The Killer Eye (1999)] - it had so much potential with the giant rapey eyeball. But aside from an amazing shower scene from Nanette Bianchi there was nothing to see there. But let's give Charles Band another shot.
CHARACTERS
- Jenna (Erica Rhodes)
- Rocky (Chelsea Edmundson)
- Kiana (Lauren Furs)
- Cat (Ariana Madix)
- Giselle (Olivia Alexander)
RATING: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ 6/10
REVIEW: I actually found this considerably better than the original The Killer Eye (1999). Not just because it had more boobs, but I really dug the Halloween vibe throughout; a really cool setting. I didn't love that the film contained so many clips from the original film, clearly to pad it out. It also takes a good while to get going -easily forty minutes before The Killer Eye starts doing its thing.
SYNOPSIS
Three friends come over to help decorate for Halloween. Jenna (Erica Rhodes) says her mother is away for an emergency and so it's up to her to get their house ready for Halloween. Rocky (Chelsea Edmundson) is disappointed there's no party or boys. Lollipop loving Kiana (Lauren Furs) is excited. Cat (Ariana Madix) brought weed. We have to listen to Cat and Rocky's filthy sass for the next ten minutes. Jenna's place is pretty damn cool Kiana notices a crystal ball - Jenna says it's her mom's prized possession. Kiana opens her bra and we get the crystal ball's point of view. Rocky finds a box with The Killer Eye (1999) video as well as a plastic replica. They watch the film. [There is altogether too much time is spent watching the The Killer Eye (1999) clips.] Something's up with that crystal ball. It "activates" the Killer Eye plastic replica.
Cat takes a shower. She doesn't realize The Killer Eye is in here with her. Jenna walks in on Cat; unknowingly saving her from The Killer Eye. Rocky notices The Killer Eye replica is missing. Kiana finds the lollipop of her dreams. The Killer Eye shoots some kind of "hypno blast" at Kiana. She drops the lolllipop. The Killer Eye's hypno ray causes Kiana to strip. Kiana screams as The Killer Eye attacks and kills her with some kind of death ray. Jenna is now transfixed by the The Killer Eye in her bedroom. The Killer Eye shoots a beam at Jenna. It causes her to get horny for Cat. Cat and Jenna start fooling around on the bed. Suddenly they're alarmed by someone entering the room. It's their friend Giselle (Olivia Alexander) who wasn't invited because they figured she wouldn't be helpful with the manual labor of putting up decorations.
Cat finds something under her sheets. The Killer Eye! The Killer Eye kills Cat. Giselle is hypnotized by The Killer Eye. Rocky wonders why Giselle is standing around half dressed. Something's not right with Giselle. She starts speaking weird - as if possessed. Giselle removes her top. Rocky decides to end this once and for all and is ready to destroy it. Rocky is zapped and killed by The Killer Eye. Still possessed, Giselle pins Jenna to the wall. Jenna slaps Giselle which momentarily snaps her out of it. But the television seems to put Giselle under some kind of drowsy spell. Jenna leads Giselle to kitchen to sit down. She slaps Giselle again, and again she's snapped out of the spell. Giselle puts on her brassiere and Jenna says she's going up to get Cat. But The Killer Eye is waiting for Jenna.
Giselle is disturbed by what enters the room... The reanimated body of Cat. Cat explains that The Killer Eye wants to procreate with her. Giselle reflects the death ray with her compact. It kills Cat (again). Jenna finds Cat's body. Suddenly someone wielding a sledgehammer and wearing a protective welder's helmet smashes The Killer Eye to bits. It's Giselle. She's saved the day. But the terror isn't over. The film leaves off with Giselle and Jenna being pulled to the crystal ball. THE END
