The New Girl (2003)

(AKA Model Lust) This movie art doesn't represent this film at all.  It's a silly erotic romance; not a minute of seriousness to be found.

Arielle Fleming (Juliana Kinkaid) is snuck up on by her boyfriend Troy (Allen Falcon).  "Fleming" is obviously a (pointless) nod to "Ian".

They have sex.

After sex, Arielle declines Troy's marriage proposal and says she wants to go to Hollywood to make it. I need to point something important out here: Juliana Kinkaid is a fabulously bad actress.  Let's face it, none of these throwaway straight-to-video erotic films are stocked with talented actors and actresses.... but holy shit, she stands out even here.  However, let me add... it works perfectly for this part.  She's supposed to be a clueless ditz, and her bad acting fits like a glove.

Arielle goes to stay with her cousin Tracy (April Flowers) for the summer.

She watches Tracy having sex with her lover Ivan (Sean Juergens).

Arielle checks out a guide to celebrity homes.  Tracy recommends she put away the tourist stuff and come with her to work at her modelling gig.

The famous photographer Scardino (John Castine) and two models, Liza (Mary Carey) Sheri (Holly Hollywood).

Scardino lectures Tracy for being late and not dressed properly.  This will give you an idea how bad the dialog is: "Look over there.  You see red outfits. You see white outfits. Why the hell aren't you wearing blue? How can I shoot red, white and blue without blue?"

Tracy joins the photo shoot, and it turns out the color didn't matter anyway because she's quickly naked.

Arielle meets Lance (Glen Meadows), a cocky male model.

On the poolside photoshoot, Arielle pushes all the models out of the way so she can have Lance for herself.

She lets him go down on her in front of everyone.

But that was all a daydream.  In reality, Arielle barely has the nerve to talk to Lance.

When another model cancels, Scardino has Arielle pose in her place.  He has her wear a fur coat with nothing underneath.

Arielle becomes awkward and embarrassed when Lance suddenly appears on the set.  Arielle quits the photo shoot.

Lance goes on a date with Arielle.

Well, she's not embarrassed of being naked in front of Lance anymore.

Finally we get to the promised spy story.  FBI Agent Brewster (Chriss Anglin) approaches Arielle to be his mole in Scardino's agency. "The security of the nation is at stake."

Arielle snoops around the agency, gathering what she thinks is incriminating information.

She catches Sheri and Liza in suspicious activity in Scardino's office.

Then they have sex, of course.

A big party at the agency, where Arielle realizes she's gotten everything wrong regarding any espionage activity.

Sheri dances naked - as do all the other girls.

Even Arielle

Brewster arrives and puts Lance and Ivan under arrest for disseminating government secrets.  But then it looks like Brewster himself is the bad guy, however....

Arielle snaps out of it.  She's back to putting suntan lotion on Lance. This whole espionage story was just a fantasy.  THE END

The movie sucked, but it wasn't because of Juliana Kinkaid; she's the only redeeming thing about this shitty movie. As mentioned, her bad acting is a joy and she's frequently naked. What the fuck was the point of the espionage plot line? It was stuffed in at the end and made no sense.

 ★★☆☆☆3/10
