(Original Title: ¡Qué gozada de divorcio!) Andrés Pajares (no Fernando Esteso this time) can't get approval for his divorce, so he's turned lemons to lemonade by becoming a playboy with the perfect excuse to never commit - he's still technically married. But when his wife comes to deliver the papers, something unexpected happens.
Alberto (Andrés Pajares) is taken to the hospital where he's attended to by Lunes (Loreta Tovar)
She's called Lunes because he shags her every Monday.
Alberto has three girls total. His second is his Wednesday lay...
Miércoles (Azucena Hernández)
Finally, his Friday girl...
Viernes (Pilar Alcón)
They have sex in a car going through a car wash.
Julia (África Pratt), his wife, comes over with her lawyer for him to sign the papers. After five years, it looks like the divorce will be final.
Before she drives away, Alberto gets a look at his wife's legs and is inspired.
He pressures her into spending the day with him.
A crazy out-of-place scene where Alberto announces a fashion show in a flamboyantly gay manner.
Not sure who these actresses are, except Lorna Green is in the bride outfit.
I love that they go to Burger King.
Then, they go for a massage.
Mary (Marcia Bell) gets right to work.
Julia doesn't realize it's that kind of massage parlor. But she quickly learns.
She runs to Alberto's room and is outraged.
Full frontal nudity from África Pratt as she hits Mary with her towel.
As they start to get intimate, they're walked in on by Juez (Antonio Ozores) and his girl.
Ozores was in a ton of these comedies - a frequent collaborator with Andrés Pajares and Fernando Esteso
Time for a bath. More full frontal from África Pratt
Alberto tries to get randy, and Julia tries to escape
Once again, they're walked in on by Juez.
This is funny in and of itself; but will be important later in the movie.
Julia finally lets loose and has sex in the shower with Alberto.
Juez and his girl are shocked at the sight of them grubbing on the shower floor.
The next day, Lunes (Loreta Tovar) comes over to Alberto's place.
But there's a big problem. Julia is on her way.
This is a really nice touch. Lunes pulls his sweater string, and this thread continues throughout this climactic scene, until his place is just a web of yarn. It's an obvious reflection of his playboy lifestyle "unraveling" and his "web" of deceit finally coming to haunt him.
Miércoles (Azucena Hernández) also comes over. It's the five year anniversary, so that's why the girls are converging on this day.
Miércoles wears nothing but an apron, and cooks for him. Alberto's stepfather Camilo has also arrived - he's just left his wife (his mother). So, shit is really hitting the fan, but it's only just begun.
Alberto and Camilo are stunned at the sight...
Lunes comes running out of the shower.
A really, really long scene with extensive dialog with her butt naked. Take note of the hilarious scenery censor - that mannequin's hand.
And it just wouldn't be a Loreta Tovar movie without her getting fully naked for an extended amount of time.
Viernes (Pilar Alcón) is also here.
Julia finally arrives and is absolutely horrified.
Total fucking chaos.
Camilo rips off Viernes' towel and basically tries to rape her.
To make matters worse, Juana (Florinda Chico), Alberto's mother arrives.
The three girls dump Alberto and start fighting.
Major league cat fight.
Miguel jumps into the cat fight and acts as rapey as Camilo.
Pillow fight!
In the end, their divorce is NOT granted. But they're actually overjoyed, as they've discovered they still love each other. The divorce was denied because the magistrate is Juez from the massage parlor!
If your expectation is fun, sexy madcap comedy, this will deliver in spades. If you're expecting erudite wit and complex characters, you should have known better.
