Thanks for the Services (1988)

(Original Title: Gracias por los servicios) Another home invasion movie - this one from Argentina.  A trio of terrorists invade the luxurious apartment of a wealthy industrialist.

Ana Di Martino (Cecilia Cenci) is the unhappy wife of a wealthy industrialist.

She leaves to run errands, and the terrorists arrive, led by The Boss (Lito Cruz)

The poor maid (Chris Lavalle) is killed straight away.

Her bloody corpse is drug methodically through the home then cleaned up.

This is probably the most effective scene in the film, where the brutality of the murder of the maid is transposed against Ana's materialistic high-class shopping

Ana goes to her hair stylist.

The Boss and goons are waiting for her whens she arrives home.

She's hit over the head pretty hard and knocked out.  Vicente (Ulises Dumont) wearing the panty on his head, tries to stop the bleeding.

Ana is carried up to her bedroom.

It's actually a rather long scene, as the gang tries to get her up the stairs, etc.

Aníbal (Franklin Caicedo) is tasked with guarding her.

Rather disturbingly, Anibal starts to molest Ana while she's unconscious.

Awake, Ana is forced to talk on the phone. Their demand is $500,000.

When she has an opportunity, she stabs Anibal.

The Boss puts a stop to it.

Ana is drug through the living room screaming.

Ana seems to become attracted to The Boss.

He humps her from behind while forcing her to face a picture of her husband.

In the end, all three terrorists are shot and killed, leaving Ana to scream traumatized from the balcony. THE END

It was gritty, it was well acted, it was well directed... but it was also boring.  This is the danger with home invasion movies - after the initial invasion, you've got an entire movie to play out, all in the home.  It's hard to maintain tension and keep the story moving - and this was definitely unable to do so.  It gets beyond tedious in parts; you'll be pressing the fast-forward button for sure.
