REVIEW: A pretty fun movie to laugh at and mock with self-righteous condescension. It's just amazingly dumb and cliche laden. Also, pretty awful that Tarzana doesn't show up until it's halfway over. Benussi is topless from then onward. Not a bad way to spend ninety minutes or so. 

DOUBLE FEATURE - Trader Hornee (1970)

SYNOPSIS

Lord Donovan (Gualtiero Isnenghi) receives word that a crashed plane was located in the depths of the African jungle. Had his son survived the crash, they would have heard from him, as it has been over ten years. But what if his granddaughter, also aboard, is still alive? He tells Doris and Groder to fly to Nairobi to investigate, despite the impossible odds that his granddaughter is still among the living. The current heirs: Doris (Franca Polesello) and Groder (Franco Ressel).

Once in Nairobi, Doris recruits Glen Shipper (Ken Clark) "the white hunter" to be their guide. Glen is not only a hunter and tracker, he's also a pilot. Groder, on the other hand, can do nothing but look effeminately irritated. They set up camp and make plans for their jungle trek to the downed plane. Doris gets dressed in her tent. She's being watched by Fred (Raf Baldassarre). Groder reveals his true motive: he's brought Fred here for one purpose - to kill the girl if she's found alive. Groder can't let that granddaughter receive the inheritance.

As with a lot of jungle movies, an inordinate amount of time is spent just watching them trudge through the terrain. They find the plane - and the charred remains of the granddaughter's doll. They come upon a native tribe who put on a big show for the white man. We're halfway through the film before we finally see Tarzana (Femi Benussi). She frolics topless, wearing only a small fur loincloth. More endless trudging through the jungle. Groder continues to act like a gayer version of Dr. Zachary Smith on Lost in Space. Doris takes a shower under a waterfall.

Fred finds Tarzana and shoots her with a dart gun. Tarzana is knocked out. Fred and his buddy arrive and find the jungle girl unconscious at the hands of Bud. Fred and his buddy kill Groder. They have a better idea - to take the unconscious jungle girl for themselves and get a big ransom from Lord Donovan. Fred carries her through the jungle. She manages to escape and is confronted by Glen and Doris. Glen shows her the doll to earn her trust. Doris shows her her breasts, saying: "I am your friend. Watch - you and I are the same." I guess seeing those titties did the trick. Tarzana leaves with Doris and Glen. THE END
