Directed by Ron Scott, who played Bob in Dracula Dirty Old Man (1969) as well as the horrible comedian in Spiked Heels and Black Nylons (1967). Produced by Texas sleaze-master, Whit Boyd, and starring a number of actors from other Boyd ventures including The Office Party (1968).
This is a Something Weird release.
Produced by my main man Whit Boyd. The girl eating a banana is Shirley Boyd. She played Sybil in Spiked Heels and Black Nylons (1967).
Three robbers burst into a grocery store.
Things escalate when a woman runs panicked through the aisle and is shot in the back.
She went down by the deodorant and Barbasol. So, what are those boxes - curlers, maybe?
The robbers take one of the shoppers with them; a girl named Catherine Benson (Nancy Reeves).
Later the police arrive at the crime scene.
We watch as the detective (Scott Martin) meticulously draws a chalk outline. This takes a several minutes.
Catherine is brought to a whorehouse, which will serve as a hideout for the robbers.
One of the whores is Dee Dee (Rosemarie McKay); she played Myrna in Spiked Heels and Black Nylons (1967).
We didn't get to see this much of Rosemarie McKay in her other Whit Boyd film; yet, still no bush. Drive-In theaters could still get shut down and arrests made if they showed pubes.
The robbers barge in on the action.
Craig (Byron Lord) binds Catherine's wrists and throws her in a bedroom.
For the next five minutes we watch Catherine struggle free from her restraints; clearly for gratuitous looks up her dress.
This is the only IMDb credit for Nancy Reeves.
Rita (Shirley Boyd), the brothel's madame, makes Catherine change into something sexy, while Joe (Ron Scott - also the film's director) watches over her and drinks.
A drunk stumbles into one of the bedrooms. He's played by the one and only, Whit Boyd!
The drunk has accidentally stumbled upon a prostitute, Jeannie (Dianne Davis) and her client.
Actress Dianne Davis is one and the same as Adarainne. She played in a number of Whit Boyd films: Janet in The Office Party (1968), Renee in Eat, Drink and Make Merrie (1969) and Susan in Dracula Dirty Old Man (1969) - not produced by Boyd, but still with his name on it.
Jeannie is undressed and carried to the bed.
They have sex.
It's party time at the brothel.
Each of the girls gets up and dances to the music, as spastic as possible.
Meanwhile, Craig and Catherine develop a liking for each other. They decide to take the stolen money from the grocery store and make a run for it.
They're pursued. A gun battle results in Craig's death. Catherine runs screaming. THE END
Not a bad movie; full of boobs and nostalgic eye candy. However, it does get boring once things settle in at the brothel. I imagine audiences at the midnight drive-in theater in '68 had a good time, but not anything particularly memorable.
