At first glance it looks to be your run-of-the-mill late-night erotic thriller. But it's a flick by our old friend Jim Wynorski, and stars a few queens of 1990s sexploitation - Delia Sheppard, Tanya Roberts, Monique Parent and Gail Harris plus an appearance from Jan-Michael Vincent. Definitely worth a look...

REVIEW: There's a backstory about Kay's girl committing suicide, but it's barely relevant - and who really gives a shit about anything in this story anyway? This just wasn't one of Wynorski's best - he had the ingredients (Tanya Roberts, Gail Harris, Delia Sheppard) - but he couldn't make it happen this time. The plot was about as generic and lame as they come, and the T&A was pretty "meh". I've seen reviews of this film raving about the sex scenes - sorry, nope. Granted, the Monique Parent/Becky LeBeau scene was outstanding - and I did think the opening scene with Gail Harris getting abused and killed was well done.... it's just all the other parts more-or-less stunk. Jan Michael-Vincent's role was just depressing, and there is a lot of boring dialog between Delia Sheppard and Jay Richardson. So, bottom line, skip this one.
SYNOPSIS
Scott and Jessica Callister (Jay Richardson and Delia Sheppard) run a sex clinic. They're methods are a bit unorthodox. Their methods often involve drugging patients and humping them. Here, Scott is mounting a patient named Monica (Gail Harris) while she's basically unconscious from his experimental drugs. Monica emerges from her "dream" wondering what the hell just happened? Scott assures her that everything is fine, but when she sees her torn clothing she realizes she's been sexually assaulted while she was out. Monica struggles to get away, and Scott knocks her down - killing her when her head hits the cabinet. [It would be hard for me to name an actress who dies more often on film than Gail Harris. It's pretty much every movie I've seen her in, and I'm sure there's more to come. As an example, here she is in an almost identical shot in Virtual Desire.] Jessica and Scott dispose of the body. Scott is a dimwitted sleazeball and Jessica is a cold, calculating bitch. One of their associates, Warren (Jan-Michael Vincent) drops by. He doesn't have a whole lot to do with the story, but he's in here to give the film a big name. A fat loser patient is getting sex therapy by having two hotties strip in front of him. The hotties are Becky LeBeau and Monique Parent.
Kay Egan (Tanya Roberts) has just been hired to work at the Callister Clinic. Her friend Rachel (Pamela Pond) has gotten her a job as a nurse here, and shows Kay some of the weird shit going down at her new place of employment. Kay meets with a private investigator, Barry (Nick Cassavetes - son of John Cassavetes). Barry explains that his partner was Monica. Monica was investigating the Callister Clinic before she disappeared. Barry requests that, since Kay works there, to help find evidence of her whereabouts. Barry and Kay have sex.
The fact that the Callister Clinic needs its air conditioning fixed is mentioned several times in the first half of the film. You wonder why the hell they keep mentioning this fact... now here it is. Kay and Barry convince the air conditioning repair man to take his time and serve as a distraction - meanwhile Barry will hunt for Monica's hidden tape recorder. Jackpot. Barry finds the recorder in the room where Monica was killed. With the air conditioning repair man gone, Kay has to find another way to distract Jessica. She lures her into the sex room, and Jessica strips down to a sheer body stocking. Jessica and Kay have sex... but we don't get to see it. With Monica's tape in hand, they confront the Callisters. The final scene is a big showdown, with everyone getting beaten to death except Kay who walks away victorious with the tape. THE END
