Evil Come Evil Go (1972)

A religious nutjob lures men to her bedroom where they must pay for their sins.  Would you believe John Holmes was the special effects guy for this film?

Sister Sarah Jane (Cleo O'Hara) likes to play her accordion outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre, singing the gospel of the lord.

Looks like What's Up Doc? is playing today.

Sister Sarah believes she's on a mission from god to rid the world of premarital sex; she does so by luring men to the bedroom then killing them.

One day at a hot dog stand, Sister Sarah meets a girl named Penny (Sandra Henderson) who invites her to stay with her - she believes in her cause.

 Sarah baptizes Penny.

She then ties Penny up, blindfolds her, strips her naked and pulls out a switchblade.

But she doesn't kill Penny; instead, she says she's going to use her as bait.  She'll be used to lure men to their holy death trap.

Penny lures the first victim to her bedroom.

Sarah stabs the living shit out of this guy.  Penny screams in horror.

The guts in this scene were supplied by Assistant Director/Special Effects Artist - John Holmes!  He purchased a bag of animal guts from a butcher.  Holmes lied about his credentials to get this job as assistant director and make-up artist.

Penny is horrified but still willing to do Sarah's bidding.  Together, they dispose of the body.

Penny's lesbian lover, Junie (Jane Tsentas), pays a visit.  She tells Penny's religious nutcase friend to take a hike.

Junie and Sarah commence love making on the couch.  Jane Tsentas may be the only halfway decent looking girl in this movie.

Sarah returns and strangles her with her scarf, then smothers her with a pillow. Then, the ladies take Junie's body and bury her in the woods.

There, they meet a guy.... and the theme song, "Evil Come Evil Go" kicks in.  It's like a hippy ballad of some kind and I'm not sure what this means.  Are we to assume this guy has caught them red-handed disposing of the body?  Or is he joining Sarah's cult?  I don't know and don't care.

It was certainly an odd film, but it doesn't have much going for it.  The ladies aren't exactly hot, and the story is pretty lame.  I think if I'd seen this at a drive-in or grindhouse in '72, I'd have been pretty disappointed.
