Tutti Frutti - Part 6

Tutti Frutti was a German game show based on the Italian show Colpo Grosso.  Please see the Tutti Frutti main page for detailed information on the game show's background, how to play, the various host and hostesses, Cin Cin girls, and a list of episodes covered on VZ1.   It's such a fun and interesting show that it deserves a closer look.

Since all the episodes for each season pretty much follow the same format, going forward we'll refrain from anything attempting a full recap.  Instead, we'll just provide quick looks at each segment of interest:

(1) The Hosts,  (2) The Cin Cin Girls, (3) The music (where Hugo ruins a beloved song), (4) The Eurogirls (AKA Flag Girls), (5) The Contestants, and (6) The Goodbye:

None of this will make much sense unless you're familiar with the show or have read the Tutti Frutti main page. Okay - onward with the next three episodes from season one....

#16

Season 1 - 10/21/1990

(1) The Hosts

Hugo and Tiziana D'Arcangelo do their usual banter - providing the requisite Tiziana cleavage

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Marta (pineapple) and Yasmine Capelli (grapes) - Marta was the pineapple substitute Cin Cin and she always seemed like she was distracted and phoning it in.

Alma Lo Moro (blueberry)

Nadia Visintainer (pineapple) and Nicci Foley (strawberry). But wait - wasn't Marta the pineapple this episode?  This is what I've mentioned before - many of the Cin Cin girls' footage was rerun over and over.

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

Kind of a lame one.  The Nylon Band plays while the Tutti Frutti cast and crew slow dance.  I prefer cover songs being butchered by Hugo.

(4) The Eurogirls

This was a really interesting one.  This Eurogirl undoes her dress just fine, but can't remove her garter to save her life...

She starts to look concerned, then concern turns into panic - and it actually looks like she's about to cry.

She remembers she has Stefano the wardrobe assistant and runs over to him.

Nobody on planet earth could undo a clasp better than Stefano

The girl si back in action, but seems a little rattled.  Surprised they left this whole thing in.

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Dunja and Helmut

It's time for Dunja to earn some points

Stefano is there to cover her up after the performance.

(5) The Goodbye

Hugo and Yasmine Capelli say Auf Wiedersehen

 #17

(1) The Hosts

Tiziana checks out Monique Sluyter's cabaret outfit.  This is definitely Monique's best outfit yet, and we get to see a lot of it in Hugo's song later.

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Yasmine Capelli (grapes) and Angelique Rinkel (tangerine)

Natacha Velimirovic (kiwi) and Angelique Rinkel (tangerine)

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

Hugo does a terrible Cabaret song, but Monique Sluyter makes it all good with a sensational dance

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Annabelle and Helmut

On the awkward scale, Annabelle is pretty far up there

(5) The Goodbye

 #18

Season 1 - 12/09/1990

(1) The Hosts

Hugo Egon Balder and Monique Sluyter  who is wearing a pretty nice outfit - which she gets to show off during the musical number.

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Alma Lo Moro (blueberry), Yasmine Capelli (grapes) and Nadia Visintainer (pineapple)

Nicci Foley (strawberry) and Angelique Rinkel (tangerine)

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

The Nylon Band sings "Billie Jean"

But Monique Sluyter is the star of this performance.

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Martina and Hartwig

Despite Martina's unhappy face, she ends up getting the most Länderpunkt and winning the game.

(5) The Goodbye

Hugo and Natacha say Auf Wiedersehen

Well, that's if for season one.  This has been a fun time watching the 1990 fashions, bad song renditions, sexy Cin Cin girls, contestants stripping awkwardly, etc.  I will definitely return to this series at some point for the successive seasons.
