Tutti Frutti - Part 5

Tutti Frutti was a German game show based on the Italian show Colpo Grosso.  Please see the Tutti Frutti main page for detailed information on the game show's background, how to play, the various host and hostesses, Cin Cin girls, and a list of episodes covered on VZ1.   It's such a fun and interesting show that it deserves a closer look.

Since all the episodes for each season pretty much follow the same format, going forward we'll refrain from anything attempting a full recap.  Instead, we'll just provide quick looks at each segment of interest:

(1) The Hosts,  (2) The Cin Cin Girls, (3) The music (where Hugo ruins a beloved song), (4) The Eurogirls (AKA Flag Girls), (5) The Contestants, and (6) The Goodbye:

None of this will make much sense unless you're familiar with the show or have read the Tutti Frutti main page. Okay - onward with the next three episodes from season one....

 #13

(1) The Hosts

Tiziana's gratuitous cleavage is even more gratuitous than usual - as she trips

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Stella Kobs (lemon) and Nicci Foley (strawberry) are chosen.  Otherwise, not much to report on the Cin Cin gals this episode.

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

"When I'm Sixty-Four" by The Beatles is utterly destroyed by Hugo

Tiziana and Monique goof around during the song.

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Sabine and Paul

Despite this great performance, Paul gets the most Länderpunkt

(5) The Goodbye

Tiziana, Nora and Monique dance us to the close

Hugo and Angelique Rinkel say Auf Wiedersehen

#14

Season 1 - 08/26/1990

(1) The Hosts

Hugo and and Tiziana D'Arcangelo - nothing particularly interesting in this episode

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Angelique Rinkel (tangerine) and Alma Lo Moro (blueberry)

Alma couldn't stop laughing in this segment

(3) Hugo's awful cover song -

Unfortunately, Hugo doesn't butcher a beloved classic in this episode. Instead, the Nylon Band plays a song competently. (yawn)

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets contestants Daniela and Hendrik

One the best things about this show is the authenticity of the contestants.  You can tell that the female contestant isn't just a stripper - but rather your average person.  This clearly evident in the striptease where almost without fail, the girl will trip up, struggle with buttons and clasps, hardly ever smile, and dance awkwardly.  It's a joy to behold.

(5) The Goodbye

Tiziana, Nora and Monique dance us to the close

 #15

(1) The Hosts

Hugo Egon Balder and Tiziana D'Arcangelo - their language barrier still providing plenty of painfully unfunny comedic fodder

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

I guess I didn't realize it back in the day, but many of the Cin Cin girl scenes are basically stock footage, used over and over.  Indeed, sometimes the lineup doesn't match up with who's actually on the current show.

Stella Kobs (lemon) and Angelique Rinkel (tangerine)

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

Hugo does "Yellow Submarine" (terribly of course) and we get a "psychedelic" filter effect

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Jeanette and Thomas enter in an untraditional fashion

Jeanette is carried in by Thomas

Jeanette has a bad RBF, but she seems to be having fun getting carried in.

She's handed off to Hugo

Jeanette and her RBF, time for another round

(5) The Goodbye

Tiziana D'ArcangeloNora Wenck and Monique Sluyter say Auf Wiedersehen

TUTTI FRUTTI 09-09-1990

(1) The Hosts

Hugo Egon Balder starts the show off in an interesting way.  The hostesses kinda phoned this episode in, I have to say.

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Stella Kobs (lemon) and Yasmine Capelli (grapes)

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

Just when you think it can't get worse, Hugo does "Everybody's Talkin'" by Harry Nilsson

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Barbara and Gottfried

Barbara makes some interesting expressions

This is so hilarious. Barbara makes this incredible face at the end of her performance.  Clearly, she is not enjoying this.

And after all that, Barbara loses to Gottfried who picked up the most Länderpunkt.

(5) The Goodbye

Not much to this episode other than Barbara's amazing expressions.

TUTTI FRUTTI 09-23-1990

(1) The Hosts

Hugo and Tiziana D'Arcangelo providing the usual gratuitous cleavage

(2) The Cin Cin Girls

Natacha Velimirovic (kiwi) and Stella Kobs (lemon)

Yasmine Capelli (grapes) and Stella Kobs (lemon)

Alma Lo Moro (blueberry)

(3) Hugo's awful cover song

"Another Day in Paradise" by Phil Collins - not particularly noteworthy as it's already a terrible song, so it's hard to make it worse.

(4) The Eurogirls

(5) The Contestants

Hugo greets Therese and Michael

Therese makes the unconventional move to remove her bra in the first round.  I get that it's a quick 40,000 points, but it's almost always reserved for the last garment removal.

Stefano gives Therese a robe. Stefano has such a hard job.

It's time for Therese's second round

Therese returns to the poker table.  She ends up losing to Michael who has the most Länderpunkt - country points.

(5) The Goodbye

Auf Wiedersehen
